LOCAL BUSINESSMAN DONATES SNEAKERS TO FOUR STUDENTS AT GRIMES SCHOOL

Four deserving students left school with new pairs of sneakers thanks to a donation from Jude Sainjour, cofounder of Buttafly, a clothing shop in Mount Vernon. Mr. Sainjour traveled to Grimes School to personally give the students their new shoes on Friday, September 22, 2023.
"The community means everything,” said Mr Sainjour. “Without community, there is no business, there is no infrastructure, there’s nothing. So, giving back to the community is everything. I just wanted to make sure that we made those kids’ days. They deserved to get those shoes.”

Meet the Founder
Jude Sainjour (b. December 27, 1985, New York, NY, U.S.) Co-owner, Creative Director, front man and all-around go-to for the illustrious and innovative fashion boutique in Mt. Vernon, NY, "Buttafly".
Jude Sainjour embarked on his career in fashion in 2011; spearheading corporate relations for a then burgeoning Dutch luxe footwear company, Filling Pieces. As the U.S. based brand manager, Jude facilitated relations with retail partners. Some notable companies Jude managed brand relations are: Barneys New York, KITH, Feature, Social Status, Bergdorf Goodman etc.
While exceling in brand management and corporate relations, Jude met with his soon-to-be partner, Trevor Delmore. Delmore acted as a mentor, and guide, offering Jude sage advice on how to aptly strive for the best in business and to never become complacent.
After several years of successful management and creating lasting relationships at Filling Pieces, Jude departed to take on a more challenging role as Head Buyer for Extra Butter. Extra Butter is notably one of the top sneaker boutiques in the U.S. Jude orchestrated all buying operations as well as working with powerhouse brands such as: Jordan brand, Nike, Timberland, Adidas, Puma etc. Jude’s industrious work-ethic and dynamic network attracted the attention of Paper Planes, an elevated lifestyle and apparel company founded by hip-hop mogul and business man, Jay-Z.
In his tenure at Paper Planes, Jude worked as Global Sales Director. He channeled his experience creating brand connections to successfully drive and manage all sales for the global business. This experience at Paper Planes gave Jude the gumption to open Buttafly with his mentor and partner, Trevor Delmore.
Now, as Creative Director of Buttafly, Jude has emblazoned a new trail for fashion. In a community underserved in high-end inventive boutiques, Jude has blossomed Buttafly not only as staple in the fashion scene of Mt. Vernon, but also as a pillar to community outreach and service. He has pioneered a profound and savvy successful Black-owned business against difficult odds. Buttafly has maintained through a global pandemic and still remains a modernistic business with provocative and attractive brands.
Jude aims to grow his entrepreneurship, as well as remain a stead-fast fixture in Mt, Vernon a.k.a. The Town.
